Goji berries are red berries that have a sweet taste and have been used for medicinal purposes in China for many years. It is believed they can be used to treat many illnesses, including eye, liver and kidney issues.

These berries are a good source of different vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, fibre, iron, vitamin A, zinc and antioxidants. They also contain all eight essential amino acids and a 1oz serving contains nearly 10% of your RDI for protein, which is a surprising amount for fruit.

Eye Health

Goji berries are high in zeaxanthin, an antioxidant that can protect against age-related diseases. One study found that elderly people drank goji berry juice for 90 days and found a significant increase in zeaxanthin and other antioxidant levels. Another study showed that goji berries could protect the retina from a condition the can lead to vision loss, called glaucoma.

Skin Health

Beta-carotene is often used to improve skin health, reduce skin irritation and manage the effects of the sun and impact of aging. Goji berry is very high in this nutrient, and there for could be beneficial for skin health. In a study of mice, it was found that drinking 5% goji juice gave them enough antioxidants to protect the skin against UV rays and skin disorders.Improves symptoms of depression and anxiety
